Frozen Bath Bomb Review By My Little Sister

This Lush bath bomb review comes straight from the mind of my seven-year-old sister. Whilst running my bath, I asked if she would like to put the Frozen bath bomb in (an amazing birthday present from Erin, who featured in my last post).

At first she was amazed and held it tight in her hands before screaming, ‘you should write a blog post on this!’

 So that’s what she did:

‘I like the sparkly light blue and dark blue.

‘It feels like crumbly sand and I like the fact the sparkles stay around in the water.

‘It looks so blue, like the whole entire sea and the sky. The bubbles (which I was told off for accidentally putting in too) look like the clouds’.

The smell (an important factor)…

‘It actually smells a bit like sweets. It’s fruity, kind of like fruit pastilles. I bet they taste exactly the same as well.’

It was at this point I explained that while Lush products smell delicious, I wouldn’t recommend eating them.

Lara then said, ‘yeah, otherwise then it would taste like its exploded’.

So there you have it, a seven-year-old’s take on one of Lush’s beloved bath bombs.

After she left the bathroom, I enjoyed a relaxing and magical bath in all the sparkles and thanks to the fairytale vibes, my skin feels as soft as a princess’.

Would we repurchase the Frozen bath bomb? Definitely, Lara already has one ready to go for her next bath time!

Have you tried the Frozen bath bomb? What others do you like too? Let me know in the comment box or tweet me.

A Glorious September Weekend

So today’s post is a little like a ‘Dear Diary’ entry, and will be something which I can look back on – one of the many benefits of blogging…

This weekend Alex’s twin brother Tom, and his girlfriend Erin, came to stay. It was so so good to see them after spending months apart, here’s what we got up to…

First stop, the arcades and dinner. So every time we head to the amusements we spend all our money on this ball game which gives you a serious work out and leaves you aching the next day (screw the gym haha). Plus, Erin and I were absolutely buzzing when we discovered the Mario Kart game, this took me straight back to my childhood and playing on the Nintendo!

Wanting to show Erin and Tom some of our favourite places in town, we headed to Aruba for dinner. The wait for our food was ridiculous which is why I only managed to take one snap of my food (shock horror), because we were just too hungry! But it was delicious, and if you’re ever in town make sure you go to Aruba, even if it’s just for drinks and the view – it is set in an unrivalled, beautiful location on Bournemouth beach.

After waking up super early on Saturday we wanted to make the most of the blue skies and sunshine and went for a refreshing stroll around Hengistbury Head.

Which for those of you who don’t know, is a breathtaking landscape, I guess these pictures speak for themselves really.

Next up: SHOPPING! We went for a browse around town and to hunt for outfits for our meal later that evening and were flabbergasted (always wanted to get that word onto my blog haha) to discover CHRISTMAS jumpers and leggings in Primark. This wouldn’t have been so bad if the sun wasn’t blazing down outside and hinting that a mini heatwave might not be too far a stretch of the imagination after all.

For dinner, we chose Prezzo, a classic yet delicious decision, I admittedly go for the same thing every single time because I am stuck in my vegetarian ways, but just look at these VIPizzas Tom and Erin devoured!

Everyone loves a good pre-dinner selfie session with their girl right? 😉

Sunday morning called for a cooked farewell breakfast on the beach and a very spontaneous decision to book a paddle board lesson! I think Alex and I may have found our calling, we can’t wait to get back out on the sea, I especially enjoyed wearing this rather fetching wet suit!

Now I am well and truly exhausted and lying in bed watching The X Factor. So there you have it, my weekend diary entry, it’s not often I do a post like this, but I really enjoyed it!

Hope you all had a lovely weekend, let me know what you got up to…

Oh by the way Erin would make an absolutely fabulous blogger and is always reviewing products, but in her mind and not on paper/blog. So any words of encouragement in the comment box will go a long way 😉

Why Starting a Blog is One of The Best Things You Will Ever Do

It’s Saturday morning and I am looking after my little sister, sat on the sofa in my pyjamas watching Monster High, which for those of you who don’t know is the latest kids craze! Beautiful dolls with a scary twist and names such as ‘Abbey Bominable’ and ‘Frankie Stein’, my sister is obsessed with them all! (If you’re really curious, take a look on Google).

Anyway…to the point of this post, it just hit me that I am SO lucky to be able to have a hobby which I could do literally anywhere.
Whether I am on the train, at the park, on the beach, on my lunch break, waiting in the doctor’s surgery, dare I say it, in the bath (haha – this comes at your own risk), I am able to pick up my phone, open the WordPress app and just blog away.

Not many people can say that with a touch of a few buttons, that they are able to socialise with their ‘hobby friends’, even fewer can say that they can interact with these friends around the clock too.

Blogging infiltrates into every day life for me and that’s partly why I love it so much, whether you have oodles of time to be able to dedicate to it one day and a few seconds for social media and interacting with fellow bloggers the next, it doesn’t matter, you’re a part of something HUGE.

It allows you the chance to be creative with your life and adds valuable and even envious attributes to your skill set. From time management and photography to communication and professionalism, you are constantly improving and enhancing yourself as a person.

Plus there is always a shoulder to cry on. I am so lucky to have a group of blogging girls that I can turn to day or night and know they will be there to comfort me or to get advice from, and I hope they know I am always here too.

– Just here right here I was able to put my phone down and make boiled eggs and soldiers (yes I am still 5 years old) but it just goes to show the amount of flexibility which comes with blogging. You don’t need to feel pressured with time contraints or deadlines.

But best of all I think, no matter who you are, your age, where you come from or what you are interested in, there is a space for everyone in this amazing and unique blogging community. You will always find someone to bond with, and better still, get to meet many of them in person in a safe and AMAZING environment at a blogging event targeted to bloggers with similar interests, and you’ll probably pinch yourself at how lucky you’ve struck or because you didn’t start putting pen to paper sooner.

So if you are reading this, and wondering whether or not to take the plunge to start, make sure you do it today! And I can quite honestly say that it might be one of the best things you have done in a long, long time.

This is My Home Tag

A picture may say a thousand words, but in this case a thousand words would never be enough…

Living by the beach is a gift I will never take for granted. Whether a storm is developing far out on the horizon, the summer sun is beating down on the beach goers below, or when the weak winter’s rays are blending into a beautiful mid afternoon sunset, the beach is my oasis.

Which is partly why I wanted to start the tag ‘This is My Home’. I speak to so many amazing bloggers almost on a daily basis and despite having not met them yet, I feel like I know a lot about them. But with so many of the girls being dotted around the country and indeed across the world, in places I’ve not yet been to, it would be amazing to see where they’re from and what they love the most about their hometown. Hence why the tag ‘This is My Home’ was born.

The snaps below were taken this morning on a blissful Sunday morning when the beach was almost deserted with barely a cloud in the sky…

I hope that through these stunning pictures of the beach you can understand just a fraction of why I love living here so much and why my boyfriend is so happy to have moved down to Dorset and now calls the south coast, ‘home’ too…

Now for the bit which involves you girls, I tag:

Lauren & Rachel

Sarah

Kirsty

Laura

Angie

Ellie

Elle

I can’t wait to see your posts girls! If any of my lovely readers have been to Bournemouth, leave me a comment or tweet me – I would love to know what you got up to!
